Video Summary

The newly redesigned 2025 Model Y now has a lower cost version, the Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD), that is under $40,000 after the federal tax credit.
The all-wheel-drive version may be worth the extra $4,000.
The new design sports a Cybertruck-inspired LED front light bar, and distinct rear light bar. It has ventilated seats and ambient lighting.
The range of the Model Y is up to 357 miles with the rear-wheel-drive version. It has a retuned suspension for a smoother ride and acoustic glass for a quieter cabin.
For those with the same size battery pack, the RWD only has a rear motor and the AWD has motors in the rear and front. This gives AWD an advantage in winter weather and for light off-roading. RWD has more range and is more efficient. It performs well in snow, thanks to the traction control system.
At 70 mph, the real-world range for AWD is 296 miles. Real-world highway range for RWD is over 320 miles.
For the 2024 Model Y RWD, the zero-to-sixty time is 5.4 seconds. The acceleration boost upgrade reduces the AWD time from 4.6 seconds to 4.2.
Estimated charging times are similar for RWD and AWD.
Based on Tesla’s website for the 2025 Model Y, the audio and features are the same for both models.
The RWD has Basic Autopilot and a full ADAS suite.
