Video Summary

The Xpeng G6 is a direct rival to the Tesla Model Y mid-size SUV. The standard range and the long range are both priced under their equivalent Model Y rivals. The Long Range has a more powerful E-motor and a bigger battery with a longer, 570-kilometer claimed range. The price is affordable, but that doesn't mean the Xpeng G6 struggles for tech; it's got heaps of it, similar to the Tesla Model Y. Most things are done through a big center touchscreen.
The interior is more upmarket than the Tesla Model Y, though with fake leather. The vehicle includes an 18-speaker audio system with speakers in the headrest. There is no glove box in the vehicle. Cabin space is a huge amount; almost like a limousine. The G6 is 4.75 meters long, stemming to stern.
The real-world range is well over 400km, and the recharge rates promise to be fast. The reviewer drove more than 600 kilometers in the G6 with an average around 18kWh per 100km. Driving experience is not especially memorable as it is set up for comfort rather than sportiness; the steering is fuzzy and a bit vague. At this stage, it is just a mild thumbs up.
