The BYD Dolphin Surf is a compact electric city car with a blade battery and is one of the best on the market. BYD is the largest producer and seller of electric cars globally, possessing the best battery technology. It uses LFP batteries that are safe and long-lasting, and can cycle 3000-5000 charges from 0-100. The key is similar to other BYD models. The top-of-the-line comfort version has a 43.2 kWh battery, and while sharing the same electric motor on the front (front-wheel drive), it provides 154 horsepower. The base model has an 88 horsepower motor, with a 220km range compared to the top model's 310km. The version has 16-inch wheels, front ventilated discs, and rear drum brakes. It also has keyless entry and power-folding mirrors. The interior is identical to all trim levels, has eco-leather seats, electric-adjustable seats (the others are manual), and a user friendly central console. It has USB-C and USB-A ports and a 12V outlet. The steering wheel is manually adjustable up/down and forward/back. This has one of the best 360-degree camera systems on the market and the screen can be adjusted to portrait and landscape. The car can be placed on adaptive cruise control level 2 and will stay in the lane, accelerating and braking. The model tested cost about 19,000 Euro with the Rabla program, though the normal price is around 26,000 Euro. Base models begin around 11,500 Euro with the Rabla program.
