Findings from the EV9 review based on its lighting features:The EV9 has a proximity key system that flashes lights and extends handles when the key is sensed, with a small light highlighting the door handle. Exterior lights can be turned off via a headlight switch, unusual for many vehicles, though daytime running lights activate when the vehicle moves. Parking lights include an accent light that serves as a bright daytime running light, but not too blinding. Accent lights show an animation when the vehicle starts, which can be viewed when unlocking with the key. Tail lights wrap around as side markers and are deep red. Tag lights illuminate the ground.
Turn signals use the same white light as the accent lights and is turned to amber and are bright. Side mirrors also have turn signals.
The headlights have a matrix system with multiple projectors for good illumination. The low beams are good, while high beams increase the reach and illuminate the trees way in the distance. An auto-dimming review camera is excellent, with HomeLink and adjustment buttons. There is a regular, auto-dimming mirror as well. The head up display is good.
The cargo light is just one fairly bright light which creates some darkness. Lights in the third row are pretty good. Back doors have no puddle or approach lights, but do have pocket lights. The second row has lights here in the center floor board which are lit nicely.
Buttons on the steering wheel are illuminated as well as on the control. Interior lights are focused in the lab areas. Ambient lights are customizable, providing a variety of choices with dual or single colors.
