The BYD Dolphin's brakes, as an electric vehicle, don’t get used as much as an ICE car. Brakes are in good shape, with about 40% left after 200,000 kilometers. The suspension is as good as new with no issues and no noises or rattles in the car. The car's diff oil has been replaced by 200,000. Tires were replaced at 200,000. Brake fluid was also replaced. The cabin filter was also replaced. The cabin interior is in very good condition, only looking a bit shiny, but with no crumpling, tears, or material falling apart.A full service for 55 euros included fluid and tire rotation. A taxi driver with 200,000 kilometers on his BYD is saving significant money compared to fuel costs.
A comparable petrol car would cost 22,500 Australian dollars (or 12,700 Euros) in fuel costs over a comparable distance, and if it was a diesel, even more again. A Brazilian driver is getting 405 kilometers of range when at full charge. Local Brazilians save on the 6,000 dollars that they would pay with local electric.
After a few years BYD has sold 2 million cars and those driving 100, 150, 200, or 250,000 kilometers in their cars have had no issues and enjoy the experience. There is basically no reason why you shouldn't get to 200,000 kilometers in a petrol car, other than the possible need for wheel bearings, suspension and or a camera replacement.
BYD is now becoming the new Jazz in providing the similar experience that they have had traditionally. If you drive a car in Brazil, you probably use solar. If you are driving an electric car in Brazil and you live in a sunny place, you are more likely to use solar power.
There should be no issues on a car for the first 200,000 kilometers. In two taxi driving cars of 200,000 and 220,000 respectively there were no issues at all. A lot of people want the same experience and if you look after them, you’ll likely get them to 500,000 and or 400,000 kilometers
