Video Summary

Here's the summary of the YouTube video review:

BYD was established in 1995, and started producing cars in 2003.
They also produce half of the world’s iPads’ batteries, and a fifth of cell phone batteries worldwide.
BYD cars came to the UK in 2023, and it was a relatively successful launch.

The BYD Seal U DM-I has the following characteristics:
The front end look gives off Porsche Cayenne vibes.
The mid-size family SUV plays in the D-segment market.
There is a 1.5-litre engine that is normally aspirated in the entry-level boost, and mid-range comfort models, and turbocharged in the top-of-the-line design trim.
The car comes with either an 18.3 kWh battery that can allow travel up to 50 miles using the electric motor alone, or a larger 26.6 kWh that can deliver nearer to 80 miles of EV driving.
The Seal U is priced from 33,205 GBP up to 39,905 GBP.
It is the best BYD interior to date, with a good quality dashboard.
Has large panoramic sunroof, standard across all trims.
Contains very large and easy-to-use display screen. However, there is often too much information on it, making it difficult to see it at a glance. Also Apple car play doesn't work in portrait mode.
Driving experience is uncommunicative, and the car’s steering is light.
This plugin hybrid model car is a means of transport.
Ride quality is soft. On undulating roads, the suspension does not settle itself down, but can be described as floaty.
On board is an 11kW charger. 30-80% fill up is estimated at 35 minutes.
There are three trim levels, none with major differences in standard equipment: Boost, Comfort and Design.

The conclusion:
It is outstanding value for money. There are better cars but that cost more. A well-equipped new player to be taken seriously. Good, but not great.
