Here's a summary of the video:
The BYD Seal 7 is priced at just under $65,000 AUD (approximately $40,000 USD) for the Performance model. The entry-level model starts at just under $55,000.
Full LED headlights are used, featuring a strip that runs along the top with a connecting section at the bottom. It has a front camera with the BYD insignia and an aerodynamic design on the side.
There are 20-inch alloy wheels with a machine finish on the outside and a graphite finish on the inside, along with wheel arch cladding. It has cross-drilled rotors with large calipers. Michelin Pilot Sport EV tires are fitted. Optional colors are expensive.
The interior feels luxurious for its price, with a lot of soft-touch materials throughout the cabin. Leather lines the center console. There is a push-button start and a proximity sensing key, along with NFC for wireless entry. It includes a large 15.6-inch rotating screen with built-in navigation and Google search. Also supports Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The interior has a good build quality.
A 12-speaker Dynaudio sound system is included. Optional dashcam. Rear headroom and legroom were great.
The LFP battery has over 80 kWh nominal capacity. AC charging up to 11 kW three-phase. DC charging has a peak of 150kW with 115 kW average.
WLTP estimated range is just over 456km but can sacrifice some range with sportier EV tyres.
Annoying safety features that require being switched off. The lane departure system and speed sign recognition were also noted. Stability control feels overactive.
Has immense power in a straight line and good straight line acceleration. Rear end feels super light, causing the stability control to become overactive. Driving the rear end feels as though it will get away from the driver. Suspension is considered soft. 0-100 km/h was achieved in 4.31 seconds during testing. The stop was found to be nice. It has a 1500 kg braked towing capacity but low payload. It lacks body control at the top end and the road noise is high.
The overall conclusion is to purchase the cheaper level version to avoid unnecessary expenditures.
