Chevy Equinox EV Underbody Review: Chassis, Suspension, Body Structure & SORB Analysis

Uploaded 3 months ago by Munro Live

Video Summary

The 2025 Chevy Equinox EV has lower AGS in the front end. The headlights and DRLs are completely dissociated, which is a current trend. The headlights are getting a little bit lower. This electric car is built on GM's BEV3 platform, which is shared with the Honda Prologue. The vehicle's front lower fascia has a large, injection-molded aero shield. The lower front impact structure is mantle bent, and includes crush cans on either side of the front cradle, with the pedestrian speaker nearby. OEMs will sometimes split structure to address curb impact and pedestrian considerations. The cross-car structure helps with crash events as well. A welded member goes pretty far outward with weldments at the end. A new Chevy Bolt has had 3 crush cans in the front in the past. The upper bulkhead is here for the front drive module and the engine bay rail has a slight splay, including an end cap.
