Dacia Spring: Living With The UK's CHEAPEST Electric Car

Uploaded 8 months ago by Fully Charged Show

Video Summary

The driving feel of the car is very light and connected. The car is easy to control, and feels like a dainty rabbit. The car has a non-adaptive cruise control, which can be alarming. The car comes with a 25 kWh usable battery. In comparison, the first electric car, the Nissan Leaf, had nearly the same battery size but was more expensive.  The actual driving range of the Leaf at its peak was 60 to 80 miles. The real-world driving range on the Dacia Spring is 110 miles and 150+ on a warm day. It uses very little energy. The car charges at 7 kilowatts; not considered fast. The car offers vehicle to load functionality.  The overall conclusion is this car is delightful. For city driving, it's brilliant, and there is no excuse to drive a combustion car. A new electric car can be had with cheap batteries to allow manufacturers to build at lower cost. The battery is in a box under the rear seats, and the pack is physically tiny compared to the Nissan Leaf. It has also been refined and improved.
