The Lotus Eletre is a challenging car for the brand, weighing 2.5 tons. There are three versions: the base Eletra, the Eletra S, and the Eletra R. The Eletra R uses an 800-volt architecture and can rapidly charge. Despite its size and weight, the handling and driving dynamics of the vehicle are exceptional with rear-wheel steering. In sport mode with the traction control systems engaged, the 600 horsepower on the rear axle begins to slip. Track mode is too harsh for anything other than a track. This vehicle has level 4 autonomous driving but does not support Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, though that may be added later with a software update.
There is good storage in the rear boot, but the front "frunk" only serves as cable storage. Some reviewers may find the polished gold interior bling too much. To drive like an enthusiast and utilize the 900 horsepower, the range is less. There are some sacrifices made for power.
