The Honda Fit EV’s drive is similar to that of other EVs. It is very fast, and the instant torque makes it exciting. The independent rear suspension makes handling surprisingly nimble. Three different driving modes are available: sport, normal, and econ. In normal mode, the drive is nice, optimizing the combination of power and efficiency, with about 70 to 75 miles of range. The range can go down approximately nine miles in sport mode, and econ mode can increase the range by approximately nine miles. There are no true gears. The back seats have a flat floor.It only has two driving modes: D (traditional drive) and B (aggressive regenerative braking, which captures lost heat during braking to put it back into the battery pack). The car’s gauge cluster tells the driver if the power is going into or out of the battery pack.
The car charges completely in about three hours with a 240 charger, or six to eight hours with a 120 wall outlet.
It has a HondaLink EV app for controlling most aspects of the car when it's idle. Turning on the climate control with the app can help make for a much more comfortable drive.
The navigational display screen resolution looks like 2000s tech. An upper glove box contains USB connectivity. There is Bluetooth audio and steering wheel controls, but limited audio connectivity options. The car is almost as spacious as a Honda Accord. The 0 to 60 times is eleven seconds in normal mode and approximately eight and a half seconds in sport mode.
The car is remarkably quiet; there is only the hum of the motor. A dash indicator tells the driver when the car is ready to drive.
Overall, the car is impressive and exceeded expectations.
