Is This Car Actually Better or Just Pretending? | 2025 GWM Haval H6 Hybrid Review

Video Summary

The Haval H6 has an updated front bumper and grill. Headlights carry over but DRL units are added below. The bonnet is carry-over and new alloy wheel designs are used. Chrome trim is gone, replaced with black trim around the side glass. It features a completely new tailgate design with two separate taillight units.
Pricing is a big part of this formula. Price of entry has gone up but is still decent for what you get. The lux hybrid is $5,000 more, and additional features to turn the Lux into an Ultra is $3,000. A plug-in hybrid option joins in September in 2 wheel drive and all-wheel-drive form.
The interior includes familiar furniture, but there are key differences. The center console is completely new for this facelifted model. They have eliminated piano black trim as a result of the move to the center console design which is good. The console is nicely upholstered and everything is better in reach. The shifter is moved up to a column shift. The accessible mobile phone charge pad is wireless. Cup holders are right next to it and other items can go into a small storage cubby.
Raising the console has created more space beneath it. There are only 2 USB-A charge points and a 12 V charging option. The car includes a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment display.

There is a new steering wheel with a reshaped rim to be more comfortable to hold. This also has the effect that more force from the wheels can be felt and that more wheel spin occurs. There's some further annoyance to the control logic of the steering wheel buttons. To get to the audio volume, requires switching modes using a separate button on the wheel.
Decent seat comfort but could be better. The driver has 6-way adjustable power seat, which, if made 8 way would allow adjusting the angle of the seat base.
Rear space is roomy in the mid-size SUV segment. Lacks backrest recline, but it has good legroom. Good sight as well that helps it not feel claustrophobic with cream leather trim. The tailgate is power operated in the Lux and Ultra trims. Boot capacity is 600L which is good, but boot lacks cargo hooks. Below the boot there's no under-floor storage.
There are good things about the driving.  The ride has been improved from its earlier softer style. There is also too much torque.
There is a lot of good standard gear, as long as it doesn't break down on you, like the driver assist tech. The lane-keep assist is a little sensitive, but that may be what customers want.

This is a good all-arounder, there are a few things to be improved, but it gets the job done without costing you a lot.
