During the test after 35 kilometers:
Kia EV9 had a consumption of 28.2 kWh/100km and had 82% of its battery remaining (used 6%).
BYD Tang (calculated) 48.0 kWh /100km and was at 78% (used 11%). The calculations were not thought to be correct for the Tang due to being so short a test run.
Kia EV9 had a higher consumption.
At 97km Kia EV9 has consumption of 29.5kWh/100km and is 63% charged(used 25% so far). BYD Tang has calculated usage of 33.6kWh/100km and is 59% (used 30%).
All three-row seven-seat electric SUVs tested were having problems fast charging from 10% to 80%.
Range for Kia EV9 under the conditions tested is predicted to be 366 kilometers. This is not a high range result.
With similar driver and similar driving style in each car, the BYD Tang was noisy. The driving position and seats were very comfortable. However, many of the driver safety systems were overly aggressive and intrusive.
