Video Summary

The Tesla Model 3 Performance features 510 horsepower, an increase from the previous version's 450. It achieves 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds, faster than a BMW M3. Straight-line acceleration is impressive, but dynamic ability is also significant.

A fourth-generation drive unit provides more power and torque due to precision grinding on the gears, hairpin windings instead of simple coils, and a new inverter providing more current (950 amps vs 830 on the previous version).

Design changes include a re-profiled front end, new headlights, a front splitter, a duct at the side channeling air around the front wheels, and staggered wheels for the first time (19 inches up front and 20 inches at the back). Also, aero blades on the wheels improve aero efficiency, but can be removed. There's a carbon spoiler and a new rear diffuser.

It has a performance badge, similar to the Model S Plaid badge.

The interior features new seats with supportive bolsters, carbon trim on the dashboard, ambient lighting, and double glazing.

The car comes standard with adaptive suspension and hub-mounted accelerometers. This allows for a softer setup during normal driving and a stiffer setup, with improved body control, when driving sportily.

New Pirelli P Zero 4 tires feature a stiffer sidewall.

Expected range is about 290 miles, and recharge times are around 30 minutes, going from 10 to 80%.

The steering is very direct and quick, but not as intuitive as the old system.
