Video Summary

Kia’s EV4 is based on the EV3 platform, sharing the same batteries and electric motors. The EV4 is slightly bigger than the EV3, being longer and a little wider, but not quite as tall. Vertical headlights give it a familiar electric Kia look. 17-inch alloys are on the entry-level model, with 19-inch available on higher trims.
It’s likely to have five different paint colors. UK specification is still being finalized. The EV4 is available as either a hatchback or a saloon, making it the only electric Kia in its lineup to be available in two body styles. The hatchback is likely to be a rival to cars like the VW ID3 and Cupra Born. The hatchback offers 435 liters of boot space, with side compartments, and a height adjustable floor. The underfloor storage section is big enough for charging cables.
The saloon version is 30 centimeters longer than the hatchback, and overall has significantly more boot space.
Loading bigger, bulkier items is easier in the hatchback due to the trunk design. The saloon does not have a rear wiper. The entry-level version gives a range of up to 255 miles; the saloon, with its more aerodynamic design, has a range of 267.
The EV4 has the same wheelbase as the EV3, so there's plenty of legroom in the back. Headroom is good, though not amazingly generous, and the back seat is relatively flat. A bad design is an almost-useless climate control touchscreen blocked by the steering wheel, but there are physical rockers to adjust temperature and fan speed. Materials look and feel very nice. When comparing to other electric rivals, the EV4 has a nice interior.
The two battery options are 55 kWh usable capacity and 78 kWh. Whichever battery is used, power is 201 brake horsepower with front-wheel drive, offering a 0-60 mile time of 7.4 seconds with the smaller battery, and 7.7 seconds with the bigger one. All batteries take about 30 minutes to charge from 10-80% in ideal conditions, which is what you'll get with the EV3. However, the mega-fast charging speeds of the EV6 are not available. A four-wheel drive EV4 GT version is expected to join the lineup, which has two electric motors, giving it around 300 horsepower and a performance rivaling the fastest Model 3 and Polestar 2 versions. All cars will come with a seven-year warranty.
