Video Summary

Here is the summary of the YouTube video:

The Kia EV5 is a five-seat fully electric SUV, similar in size to the Sportage, with seven paint colors to choose from. Styling is similar to other Kia EVs like the EV3, EV6, and EV9.

There are options for 18-inch or 19-inch alloys, with GT-Line and GT-Line S trims offering unique styling touches and gloss black finishes.

Kia's naming strategy places it between the EV4 and EV6 in the electric lineup, the current smallest and cheapest car is the EV3 and the biggest is the EV9, making the EV5 potentially filling a gap in the market. As an electric SUV, it competes with the Renault Scenic, Tesla Model Y, and Skoda Enyaq.

The EV5 is a bit bigger than the Sportage, it's longer, taller, and wider. It has a 566-liter boot space, more than the Scenic but less than the Enyaq. The boot includes a height-adjustable floor as standard and lots of underfloor storage, it has dedicated storage for the parcel shelf, and can easily keep the charging cables out of sight. The split fold for the backseat is 60/40.

It has adjustable hooks at the top that can be used to hang shopping bags.

The distance between the front and rear wheels is longer than in the Sportage, providing more legroom. Taller adults will be comfortable in the rear seats. Adjustable backrests can be adjusted for angle, though this also moves the seat base. A wireless phone charger is located in the front. Also, there is climate control in the rear seat, as well as a drawer underneath.

In Asia, there is a current LFP battery version on sale. The European/UK version will have an NMC battery with a 78 kWh usable capacity, for up to 329 miles of range in initial tests. It uses a 400-volt electrical architecture rather than the EV6’s 800-volt architecture, so the charging speed is capped at 130 kW.

There are three models expected in the UK: Air, GT-Line, and GT-Line S. The Air model is estimated to start at £38,000, with the GT-Line S just under £45,000. All have a 214 bhp electric motor driving the front wheels with 0-62 mph acceleration in 8.4 seconds and a top speed of 102 mph.

The Kia EV5 is expected to arrive in the UK later this year.
