Video Summary

- 50% of the parts on the new Tesla Model 3 have been changed to make it more stylish, aerodynamic, efficient, luxurious, comfortable and safe.
- Slimmer, sleeker headlights with more prominent LED daytime running lights are now present. They give the impression that Tesla has taken inspiration from Audi.
- The front now features a single vent, and the car looks less fishlike and a bit more aggressive, with perhaps a hint of the Hyundai Ioniq 6, or maybe an Aston Martin Vantage.
- The side view is very similar to the previous model, as this is a mid-life facelift, not a completely new car. There are new alloy wheel designs available in 18 and 19 inches; the 19-inch wheels feature special slats to make them appear larger.
- There are two new paint schemes: Ultra Red, similar to that on the Model S, and Stealth Gray.
- The taillights are new, no longer split, and the lower part of the bumper has been redesigned with integrated fog lights.
- The interior features a new dash design, keeping the large landscape screen and minimalist style. LED lighting and customizable materials are available.
- The steering wheel is different, now incorporating indicators; there are no stalks at all. The horn is now in the center, improving safety.
- The center console has been redesigned with aluminum elements, and Tesla has improved the quality of interior materials.
- Tesla chose the materials for their ability to absorb noise for improved comfort and to mitigate noise. It uses acoustic glass in the rear and back windows. There is more sound insulation and a small upturn in the hood to deflect wind over the windshield. New tires have been fitted that reduce road noise, and the improvements result in a 30% noise reduction from wind and ambient sources, as well as a 25% and 20% reduction for impact and road noise, respectively.
- The new suspension features new springs and dampers, altered front suspension geometry, more subframe bonding points, and upgraded bushings.
- The upgraded technology includes a new, brighter, and more responsive screen, Airwave 2.0 climate control, two-phone Bluetooth connectivity, improved Wi-Fi, and better phone connectivity when using the phone as a key. The stereo now features 17 speakers. There are two wireless charging pads, a USB-C port, and USB-C ports in the back. There is also a rear-passenger screen to control the stereo, climate, and to watch movies.
- The rear seats have been updated with geometry adjustments for improved comfort, featuring perforations, and they are heated. The front seats are now also ventilated.
- Improved aerodynamics have increased the Model 3’s efficiency by 8%. The drag coefficient is now 0.219 CD, down from 0.225, which makes the Model 3 the most aerodynamic Tesla available.
- Rear-wheel drive versions have a range of 554km; the dual motor long-range version has a range of 678km.
- The car is going on sale in Europe in October and will be in the UK sometime next year. The price starts at about £42,000.
