The main con is that the long-range version has a slightly smaller battery.
However, improvements in efficiency offset the battery size reduction. A one-pedal feature is added for acceleration which is like Tesla.
People have been waiting for it; Now, XPENG has responded to the demand.
It has Tesla's full one-pedal acceleration and driving. It does have fast charging (approximately 500 kW), but Australia does not have that feature yet, but it may in the future. There is very little body roll.
The software includes new features.
After having driven the car around in China, it was found that people don’t really follow the rules of the road in China. People almost never indicate. NGP (Navigate Guided Pilot) is full self-driving. The performance, and many other features are similar to the current model.
In summary, the new XPENG G6 might be the best car one can buy at its current value. However, this is the 2025 edition, which is not yet available outside of China.
