Novo BMW i5 Touring // A CARRINHA PERFEITA... ou NEM POR ISSO?

Video Summary

The BMW i5 Touring is part of BMW’s transition to all-electric vehicles. In the luxury sedan segment, it competes with the Mercedes EQA and the Audi A6 e-tron. The review anticipates competent chassis, luxury, and efficiency.

The i5 has the appearance expected of a 5 Series, featuring an impressive length and a stylish front. The grille, not needed for air intake in the electric car, happily has ceased expanding in size. The grilles have an LED at night. The headlight features are very good.

The car is nearly five meters long, providing much space.  The touring version has a capacious trunk, initially at 570 liters and expandable by removing the parcel shelf or folding the rear seats to 1700 liters.
The review states the rear seats are quite spacious, with a lot of light from the panoramic roof. It has a generous central armrest, heated seats in the back, and ducts that can be controlled with a touch screen. There are also two USB charging ports in the back.

The front area is fine, much like a 5 Series. The dashboard is nicely illuminated, and that extends to the doors. The doors have programmed positions for the driver’s seat, as well as door opening and closing controls. There is the brand's traditional joystick for controlling its system with a volume knob, and gear selection. The car’s start/stop button, two inductive chargers for smartphones, and cupholders are also present.

With consumption around 18-19 kWh, it has more than 400 kilometers of range, a bit above the 17 promised by BMW. The 40 has one electric motor on the rear axle and acceleration to 100 km/h in six seconds, with a limited maximum velocity of 193 km/h. The incredibly smooth suspension floats over undulations and potholes well, but is not as firm as a typical 5 Series. The M steering wheel has great grip but is somewhat dead.

The reviewer finds this i5 Touring offers great driving and is very agile in maneuvers, and is about the size of a 1 Series. But that price tag of 79,000 Euros is very high and nearly 100,000 Euros. This may not make it as appealing to a private owner but is much more oriented toward company leases and tax benefits.
