Video Summary

This Tesla Model S is a 2014 car, almost eight years old. It has 103,000 miles on it.
It is an early car and has free supercharging. In the last two years, the car has traveled 40,000 miles collecting cars around the country; it's in daily use.
The warranty on the battery, drive train and motors was eight years, with unlimited mileage. There are many older Teslas with 100K miles; a chap in Germany has over 1 million miles.
The battery is believed to be fine, and battery failure is less risky than with engines. Repair will be available and less expensive as more cars come out of warranty.

The cost to replace a battery is not yet known. The owner doesn't expect to have battery issues but acknowledges they are still possible.
There has been no paint work from new, but the paint has ceramic coating and polishes up well. There is a small graze in the corner with stone chips.
The seat has the first generation leather seats, with slightly less bolstering. Due to less bolstering, they have lasted well, and the stitching is still in tact. There is wear on the corner of the door, but it is a lighter color and shows grub. Still, the owner prefers these seats for daily comfort. This car, as it’s earlier, has free supercharging. In the two years since owning, this Tesla has had zero paint work or accidents.
The 21 inch turbine wheels work well with this care and are switched for 19-inch wheels for longer journeys or winter weather.

The maintenance and repairs since 2020 include a full set of tires with wheel alignment. The front tires last 27,000 miles while rear tires typically do not last as long as there is more torque on rear wheel drive vehicles. At 78,000, the TPMs sensor was replaced.
The CCS adapter is recommended for any Model S or X owner, and requires programming by Tesla. This allows use with CCS connections for supercharging.
Business electricity at the current rate has worked out to 1500 pounds over the last 40,000 miles. This offers great savings compared to internal combustion engines.

This car does not have cameras or radar, so no autopilot. The owner has upgraded the processor and screen at a cost of 1,400 pounds. It now feels like the latest model in terms of speed and software; all functions work.
This car has dual chargers, so the car charges over 60 miles per hour using a 22 kilowatt three phase power supply. The charging rate can get up to 100 kilowatts at a low state of charge.

As for the value, the owner purchased this Model S for under 30,000 pounds; today, this car is valued at 32,000 pounds, so the owner thinks this has been cheap motoring.

The owner concludes that with over 100,000 miles, the Tesla Model S has been a reliable, practical car which is great to drive. He recommends Teslas.
