For the Polestar 2 BST edition 270, Polestar squeezed another 68 horsepower. The motors and batteries are the same, but Polestar tweaked the software. The car sits 25 millimeters lower than standard, on springs which are 20 percent stiffer. It also includes auxiliary adjustment canisters for the Öhlins two-way adjustable dampers, an aluminum strut bar connecting the front suspension mounts, and special 21-inch wheels with Pirelli P Zero tires.
The 0-62 time is 4.2 seconds, half a second faster than the dual motor version. While a 12 percent increase in acceleration is worth £21,000, the full story is that the power is worth nothing without control. A 49.10 second lap time was obtained using the dual motor. A 47.56 lap time was obtained using the 270 version, a time one and a half second less. The suspension is quite a bit stiffer. The car is more reactive in your hands, has more grip, and the steering is more precise. Electric Vehicles are more engaging to drive now. More driving engagement can actually be delivered and should be standard, great news for keen drivers.
