The review compares a single-motor and a dual-motor Polestar 2. Both cars have the Plus Pack, similar mileage and age. The single-motor version is 6% more efficient in terms of range on the motorway, but still has lower battery level on arrival. The single-motor had a motorway efficiency of 24.4 kWh/100mi. The dual-motor had a motorway efficiency of 25.9 kWh/100mi. This equals to 4.1 miles/kWh and 3.86 miles/kWh respectivelyIn low-speed conditions, the difference in efficiency increased to about 10%. The single motor in urban environments has average of 20.8kWh/100mi The acceleration is very well tuned in both cars, the first part being smooth while still getting maximum power in the bottom third of the travel. The Polestar is more refined than a Tesla Model 3. The 19-inch wheels are probably the spec to go for.
The Plus Pack gives the car a heat pump. The driver could not feel a difference between cars under normal driving conditions. Both cars used brake-by-wire systems. New Polestar 2 single motor are real-wheel drive now. There are two drive modes (chill or sport) like in a Tesla but this wasn't said in the review to be a good or bad thing.
