Video Summary

The Polestar 2 has 408 horsepower and 487 lb-ft of torque. The range is 418 kilometers, although the manufacturer recommends charging up to only 90 percent of the battery capacity, which reduces the range to 380 kilometers.

The reviewers love the car's looks, especially the optional wheels and taillights.

Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 Plus tires are recommended for this car.

At a distance, the taillights appear similar to those of the Hyundai Sonata, but look quite good.

Polestar is a spin-off of Volvo, which is owned by Geely in China.

A performance package adds yellow seatbelts and manually adjustable dampers.

The design includes a clean body and a badge sticker that includes the battery information.

The front trunk has some room, and the hatchback trunk has a decent amount of space.

Regarding the interior, they note that the battery makes the floor high, limiting passenger space, and making for an uncomfortable leg position for some drivers.

One can not preheat the car if it is not plugged in to a charging source.

Using the car's infotainment, the reviewers attempted to find fast chargers. One charger was not compatible with the car, and another was faulty. At one point the reviewers paid $3.89 for 40.7 kilowatt hours in 34 minutes, then nearly seven times more, at $26.50 for 33.9 kilowatt hours in 41 minutes. At their last stop, the charger stated that current charging fees were dependent on the maximum vehicle power levels. The charging infrastructure of this car needs improvement.

The lane centering technology works well but requires sustained pressure on the steering wheel. This electric car has Google maps and full Google Android infotainment. The C40 is a good alternative, especially if you don’t like a Tesla. While a nice ride, the car may be more than some car shoppers need.
