Video Summary

Rivian published a glowing update on US manufacturing expansion. The Chief Operating Officer highlighted a growing team, deepening community roots, and scaling plans for the R2. Rivian cut 140 employees, about 1% of its workforce, mainly in salaried manufacturing positions, aiming to improve operational efficiency ahead of the R2 launch in 2026.
Rivian updated its referral program, moving to a tiered system where the more referrals someone gets, the less each is worth, essentially a reverse loyalty program.
The R2 is undergoing auto chassis road simulator testing to fine-tune ride quality, identify vibrations, and stress test components before public road tests. Engineers use the testing rigs to fine tune ride quality and chases down weird vibrations. In plant improvements, Rivian's plastics shop is nearing completion, expected to lower production costs and lessen dependency on outside suppliers.
Rivian is a headlining sponsor of the X Games in Salt Lake City, which aligns with the brand's adventure/outdoors image. Rivian also dropped a video teaser with a 5,000-pound airstream, promising a summer-long campaign of real-world stories from Rivian owners.
