Video Summary

The Porsche Macan Turbo Electric makes 630 horsepower and 834 pound-feet of torque in overboost launch mode. It achieved 0-60 mph in 2.95 seconds. The battery is 100 kWh, and the range is 463 kilometers or 288 miles. It can reach a top speed of 260 km/hr with the proper summer tires. The Turbo nameplate doesn't make sense when applied to an electric vehicle. The Turbo is different from the gas variant, with a dual-motor setup that is rear-wheel biased and optimized for maximum performance. There are four trims of the Macan electric: base, 4, 4S, and Turbo. The Turbo starts at $140,362 Canadian or $105,300 US. All the Macans have 800-volt technology, which gives them a charging capacity of 270 kW. It can charge from 10-80% in 21 minutes in theory. It's noticeable that there is not regenerative braking, just a slight regen feel. This is intentional by Porsche to make it feel like a traditional vehicle. With a 15.7-inch internally vented disc brake with six-piston calipers on front and a 13.8-inch internally vented disc brakes with a single floating caliper on back it stops well. The top-level ICE Macan GTS weighs 1000 pounds lighter than this. The reviewer thought this would make it less fun. It does have a phenomenal steering, with Porsche's torque vectoring. He feels it’s so good that it has rear-end swing out. He likes the aerodynamic design, stating it sits lower. For the purpose of filming and going back and forth, the rear axle steering option is great. It has a silver Porsche logo on the hood and steering wheel, two deep cup holders and extra storage with USB-C inside. It had heated and ventilated seats that work fast. If the "Car" menu is selected, car play disappears.

A charging port felt "finicky" and sometimes didn’t open. The fast charger does 90 kW. In the back there are 17 cu. ft. behind the second row. When the second row is flattened with 40/20/40 split then you can have 45 cu. ft. of space. These vehicles don’t have a reclining feature.
