Video Summary
After a month of driving a Tesla Cybertruck every day, here are a few thoughts: - The Cybertruck brings smiles to peoples faces and makes their day. - To get the car, the biggest question was how to use the truck. - Even if you do not need a truck, the Cybertruck is the weirdest coolest looking car out there.
Range: - Claimed 340 mile range on a single charge. - No configurations exist like on other Teslas, e.g. wheel changes. - Range exceeds estimate with 318 miles and 255 kW charging. - No issues charging the Cybertruck for 15 minutes or less. - Road trip showed 182 miles non-stop with 72 miles left. - Average was 507 Wh per mile.
Ride and Handling: - The Cybertruck ride and handling is unique. - It features steer by wire and independent rear steering, which are game changers for Tesla. - At low speeds small adjustments with the steering wheel to make turns. - Highway vibrations coming from the steering wheel. - This is not uncomfortable or a tire balance issue. - Due to the large tread, you do notice the vibration more compared to other models.
Garage Fit: - The Cybertruck does fit in a normal-sized garage. - Be careful if near another car, as you can cause scratches. - It is too long and takes over the use of the space.
Issues So Far: - The Cybertruck does not have any vision sensors (will be available later). - No lock confirmation horn sound like all other Teslas have. - The heat on the Cybertruck died, with service required. - Stainless scratches very easily, requiring paint film or polishing.
Safety Issues: - The doors are not child friendly. - Panels can be super sharp.
Camera Issues: - Poor image quality of the rear-view mirror. - Should have been a digital rear-view mirror. - This camera was placed low and susceptible to dirt and grime. - No cabin overheat protection. - No 12V cigarette lighter outlet, limiting charging of items like a radar detector.
Summary: - Car brings lots of stares from the public. - The Cybertruck requires knowing the dimensions real good to be able to park well, but overall the reviewer is happy.
