New exterior aspects of the Model S Plaid are a new front fascia, and they are only on this version. When new, the changes were hard to discern because of the all-black paint. The matte PPF makes the new elements easier to see. All the gloss parts will be gloss black on all colors. The new front lip is gloss black, and it has a cutout under the fog light and a line that goes across the body under the headlights. There is a carbon fiber insert behind the Tesla logo. The front bumper has a self-cleaning camera that is found on all trims of the S and X refresh.

The new front fascia is only on the Model S Plaid. The front insert is carbon fiber on the Plaid, but is satin black on the long range.
Inside, the Plaid has bucket seats in the front with Alcantara bolsters. There are no rear bucket seats. Instead, the side styling is the same, with Alcantara added to the sides and bottom of the seat. The review states that these seats, while being the same size, feel different and that depending on the body the person has they can be more or less comfortable. There is full Alcantara bolsters.
