Video Summary

The Renault Zoe has the furthest range between fill-ups and is the cheapest to run, making it the winner. It is a 5-door, 5-seater car that was launched in 2013. It can charge from 0-80% in one hour. With the Zoe, you can easily think you are sitting in a normal supermini. It has a bright, breezy, and modern design, but lacks luxury compared to the i3. It is the slowest of the three cars and has 92 horsepower.

The BMW i3S is stylish and offers sharp handling and performance, but is more expensive than the other electric vehicles. Its interior feels lighter and spacier due to the big windshield, and has some recycled materials. If you are used to the inside of a BMW, you may be surprised by the i3. It has been geared towards the driver, which is more potent and will take 6.9 seconds to get to 62 miles an hour. The BMW sends its power to the rear wheels. You cannot open the rear doors with your seatbelt on.

The Kia Soul EV takes the shortest time to charge. It has a dull interior, but Kia does not want you to be scared about the electric technology in the car.

Two major issues with electric cars are how long it takes to charge and range anxiety. It depends on how you drive whether carrying people or using heating or sat-nav. If the charging infrastructure isn’t there, you’re always going to worry about where to recharge. The regenerative braking in the Renault is smooth and comes in three colours.

The Zoe’s lights on the instrument panel light up in three colours to tell you if you’re driving efficiently. The instrument panel lights up with green for good, blue for so-so, and purple for inefficient. The Soul EV has a white gloss insert, though, apart from that, it’s pretty grey. The three-pin plug is 11-14 hours. Isofis are nearly impossible to reach in the Zoe. It comes with a small 7-inch touch screen.

The Soul EV comes with an 8-inch touchscreen, and has good isofix. Its deceleration is sharp and it is highly spec’d to a standard specification.
