Video Summary

Findings from the review of the Volvo XC40 include the following:
-It's a refreshed model featuring a new family of engines, moving from "T" to "B."
-There are two powertrain options: B4 and B5, both with a 2.0-liter turbo-charged four-cylinder engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission. They also have a 48-volt hybrid system.
-The B4 powertrain has 194 horsepower, while the B5 has 247 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.
-All-wheel drive is standard in Canada but only the B5 is an all-wheel drive model in the US.
-Standard features include a 12.3-inch driver display, a 9-inch touchscreen, Google Assistant, Apple CarPlay, heated leather front seats, a power driver seat with memory, four-way lumbar support, power tailgate, 18-inch wheels, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
-Notably, there are no longer traditional drive modes, except off-road.
-The seats sit lower in the refreshed model which addresses previous complaint about tall people being too high in the prior version.
-It is engineered for smooth take-offs and refined acceleration, while keeping the cabin quiet.
-It drives with a smooth and comfortable ride.
-The steering is very light and compliant but can be firmed up in the touchscreen menu.
-It's engineered for a smooth, refined, and luxurious driving experience.
-Exterior updates include revised headlights and an updated front bumper and grill.
-Both chrome and black exterior accents are available at no extra charge.
-The 2023 Volvo XC40’s door pockets were carved out from the inside. No speakers in the doors. They are in the firewall. This design provides plenty of packing space.
-There is a handy panel system inside the rear compartment that works to contain grocery bags and other packages. There is space to store the tonneau cover out of the way beneath the hatch floor.

-With the XC40, buyers are able to tow up to 3,500 lbs, which is a great feature for a smaller vehicle.
-The warranty is four years/80,000 kilometers, or 50,000 miles.
-Scheduled maintenance is covered for the first three years, 36,000 miles.
-Overall, it is a solid car with a lot of good value to it. The biggest issue has been reliability ratings, and in 2023, it is in 23rd place, which is a great improvement. It is still in the lower half of luxury car rankings.
-One of the things they would like to see is for heated seats to come standard in Sweden. Also there is no AM radio, which could be a problem for some people.

Overall, it’s refined, smooth and offers a lot of value. This small Swedish crossover still has its quirks but, is a great unit.
