Video Summary

The Xiaomi YU7 is the brand's first SUV, built from the ground up, with a unique identity, but carries over some of Xiaomi's familiar design. Proportions are like those of a premium performance SUV, nearly five meters long. A low, wide stance with a 3:1 wheel to body ratio results in a stable look.

The largest single-piece clamshell aluminum hood on a mass-produced vehicle reveals a 141L electric front trunk with eight opening modes. It has optional 275mm wide rear tires, flared arches, hollowed-out headlights, a 180-degree ultra-wide-angle lighting system, and air channels from headlight housings into the hood. An ultra-red lighting signature is designed to boost nighttime visibility. Door handles remain hidden until approached, then deploy automatically.

The car features multi-duct airflow management, active grill shutters with 100 adjustable louvers, and drag-reducing tweaks. The drag coefficient is claimed to be 0.245. Offered in three paint finishes inspired by natural elements.

The car has a dual-zone surround luxury cabin wrapped in Nappa leather and soft-touch materials, minimal layered dash, and Oeko-Tex Class 1 certification. Cabin space is generous. Rear seats recline up to 135 degrees. It has nearly 2000L cargo capacity. There is a HyperVision panoramic display, and a curved mini-LED system stretching 1.1m across the windshield with Pro retina-level resolution and 1200 nits peak brightness. The display is configurable and allows custom entertainment experiences.

The YU7 has 690 PS from the dual-motor all-wheel-drive Hyper Engine V6s setup, 0-100 km/h in 3 seconds and 253 km/h top speed. A 96.3 kWh battery pack gives 835 km range (CLTC cycle). The suspension includes a double wishbone front, five-link rear suspension, closed double-chamber air springs, and adaptive damping. Brembo four-piston calipers and adjustable ride height with 222mm of ground clearance are additional features.

It uses a steel-aluminum hybrid armor cage structure and upgraded 2200 MPa ultra-high strength steel, for better safety.

It has a four-in-one domain control module for vehicle, cockpit, and connectivity functions. It runs on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for in-cabin tech and NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Thor for driver assistance. It has LiDAR, 4D mmWave radar, and HD cameras. Charging is 5.2C. It has a 10-80% top-up in 12 minutes and 620 km range boost in 15 minutes.
