The single rear-mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor delivers a healthy 315 horsepower and 389 lb-ft of instant torque, rocketing the YU7 from 0 to 60 mph in a swift 5.7 seconds. The rear-wheel-drive configuration promises an engaging and balanced driving experience. Despite its 5,104-pound curb weight, the 800V architecture and instant power should make it feel agile, while its heft provides a planted, comfortable ride perfect for daily driving and long road trips.

Range, Battery & Charging

The YU7 Base is built for the long haul, featuring a substantial 96.3 kWh usable battery pack. This delivers a Green Cars Compare calculated real-world range of an impressive 353 miles on a single charge, with an excellent efficiency of 3.67 mi/kWh. Thanks to its cutting-edge 800V architecture, it can guzzle electricity at a staggering 330 kW at a DC fast charger, zapping you with significant range in minutes. For home charging, the standard 11 kW on-board charger can fully replenish the battery overnight. A US version would sport a NACS or CCS1 port.

Safety & Driver-Assistance Features

While official NHTSA safety ratings are not yet available for this new model, Xiaomi is expected to equip the YU7 with its advanced "Pilot" driver-assistance suite. Standard features on the Base trim will likely include all the essentials you’d expect, such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and blind-spot monitoring. Official US warranty details are pending, but to be competitive, expect Xiaomi to offer a comprehensive package. This would likely include a 4-year/50,000-mile basic limited warranty, which is standard for the premium segment. More importantly, the critical battery and powertrain components will probably be covered by an 8-year/100,000-mile warranty, with a guarantee to retain at least 70% of the battery's original capacity over that period. Details on complimentary maintenance plans will be revealed closer to a potential US launch.
