Overview
The Ford Mustang Mach-E GT is the full-fat, performance version of Ford's electric SUV, blending iconic pony car style with sledgehammer acceleration. It's a proper hooligan in a family-friendly package, squaring up against rivals like the Tesla Model Y Performance. With its aggressive looks and standard all-wheel drive, the GT is the top-dog of the Mach-E range. In Europe, a new model commands a price of around €78,000, while quality used examples can be found from approximately €51,990, making it a tempting proposition for those wanting speed and style.
What's New for 2025?
For 2025, Ford has given the Mach-E GT a serious shot in the arm. A new, lighter, and more efficient in-house rear motor is the star of the show. The previously optional Performance Upgrade is now standard, uncorking the GT's maximum potential. This means Brembo front brakes and MagneRide adaptive suspension are now included right out of the box, sharpening its handling prowess. Ford has also worked its magic on charging, promising faster top-up times to get you back on the road quicker than before.
Design & Exterior
The GT certainly looks the business, taking the standard Mach-E's handsome SUV-coupe shape and dialling up the aggression. It stands apart with a unique carbonised grey 'grille' panel featuring an illuminated pony badge, a more muscular front bumper, and massive 20-inch alloy wheels. Measuring 4743 mm long, 1881 mm wide, and 1613 mm tall, it has a commanding presence. Signature Mustang tri-bar taillights complete the look, leaving no doubt about its heritage. It's a true head-turner that perfectly matches its performance credentials.
Interior, Tech & Cargo
Inside, the GT's cabin is dominated by a massive 15.5-inch vertical touchscreen running Ford's slick SYNC 4A system, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. The vibe is sporty and modern, with standard Ford Performance front seats that hug you in the corners. Passenger space is generous for five. For practicality, you get a 402-litre boot that expands to a cavernous 1420 litres with the rear seats folded. Plus, there’s a super useful 100-litre waterproof 'frunk' under the bonnet for extra storage or messy cables.
Performance & Driving Experience
This is where the GT truly shines. With dual Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors powering all four wheels, it unleashes a staggering 358 kW and 950 Nm of torque. That's enough to launch this family SUV from 0-100 km/h in a neck-snapping 3.6 seconds, with a top speed of 200 km/h. The standard MagneRide adaptive suspension is a game-changer, allowing you to switch between a comfortable cruise and a firm, sporty setup for attacking corners. Combined with powerful Brembo brakes and one-pedal driving modes, it’s an incredibly engaging drive.
Range, Battery & Charging
The GT is powered by a 91 kWh usable battery pack. Green Cars Compare calculates its real-world range at around 433 km, with an impressive efficiency of 4.76 km/kWh. For home charging, the standard 11 kW on-board AC charger will fill the battery overnight. When you're on the move, you can plug into a DC fast charger using the CCS Type 2 port. It can accept a peak of 150 kW, which can replenish the battery from 10% to 80% in around 45 minutes, with 2025 models boasting improved charging curves.
Safety & Driver-Assistance Features
Safety is a top priority, and the Mustang Mach-E scores a full 5-star rating from Euro NCAP. The GT trim comes loaded to the gills with Ford's Co-Pilot360 suite as standard. This means you get a comprehensive package of aids including Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go and Lane Centring, a 360-degree camera, Active Park Assist, and Blind Spot Information System. It’s a robust set of features designed to make every journey safer and less stressful, giving you excellent peace of mind on the road.
Warranty & Maintenance Coverage
In Europe, Ford backs the Mustang Mach-E with a comprehensive warranty package. You typically get a 2-year, unlimited-kilometre basic vehicle warranty. More importantly, the high-voltage battery and electric drivetrain components are covered for a reassuring 8 years or 160,000 kilometres, whichever comes first, with a guarantee against significant degradation. While complimentary maintenance isn't standard, service intervals are much longer than for a petrol car, reducing overall running costs. The Mach-E has established a solid reputation for reliability in the EV space.
