Overview
The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT is Stuttgart's most ferocious electric saloon, a track-honed missile that still behaves on public roads. It’s gunning for lap records and ultimate EV bragging rights, sitting at the very top of the Taycan hierarchy. Key highlights for this electrifying beast include its ludicrous acceleration and a chassis engineered for physics-defying grip. Prepare to invest around €240,000 for this flagship experience in Europe. It’s the Taycan dialled way past eleven!
What's New for 2025?
The Taycan Turbo GT itself is the electrifying headline, storming onto the scene in 2024 as Porsche's most powerful series-production car. For the broader, recently updated Taycan family, enhancements include more potent batteries, quicker charging, and tweaked styling. The Turbo GT, however, elevates all this with bespoke aerodynamics, an even more powerful rear motor delivering crushing performance, and an optional Weissach Package for die-hard track enthusiasts seeking ultimate weight reduction and downforce. It's a fresh monster for those craving extreme electric thrills.
Design & Exterior
The Taycan Turbo GT's exterior isn't shy about its performance intent, shouting aggression from every angle. It's a masterclass in functional aero, boasting a deeper front splitter, aggressive air curtains, and a prominent Gurney flap on its adaptive rear spoiler – or a massive fixed carbon-fibre wing if you spec the Weissach Package. Unique lightweight forged wheels complete the purposeful stance. Dimensionally, it measures 4968 mm in length, 1966 mm in width, and sits at a hunkered-down 1378 mm tall. This is pure Porsche performance design.
Interior, Tech & Cargo
Inside, the Taycan Turbo GT masterfully blends focused motorsport ambiance with Porsche luxury. Standard full bucket seats in Race-Tex (comfier 18-way adaptive sports seats are a no-cost alternative) firmly hold you, surrounded by GT-specific trim. The Porsche Driver Experience features a stunning curved digital display and central infotainment screen with seamless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For practicality, you get 326 litres of boot space and a useful 84-litre frunk. Opt for the Weissach Package, and the rear seats vanish for maximum weight saving.
Performance & Driving Experience
Brace yourself! The Taycan Turbo GT launches from 0-100 km/h in a mind-altering 2.3 seconds. Its dual Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (one front, one rear) unleash a colossal 760 kW and 1340 Nm of torque through its all-wheel-drive system. Engage Attack Mode, and power briefly surges to an astonishing 815 kW! Porsche Active Ride suspension delivers uncanny agility and control, while standard carbon-ceramic brakes provide immense stopping power. It’s an incredibly precise and wildly exhilarating driving machine, rewriting EV performance rules.
Range, Battery & Charging
The Taycan Turbo GT is equipped with a 97 kWh (usable) battery, providing a Green Cars Compare estimated real-world range of around 456 km. Energy consumption is rated at 4.7 km/kWh. Thanks to its advanced 800V architecture, DC fast charging via the CCS Type 2 port is blisteringly quick, capable of hitting up to 320 kW. This means a 10-80% charge can be achieved in as little as 18 minutes under ideal conditions. Standard AC charging is 11 kW, with a 22 kW on-board charger available as an option.
Safety & Driver-Assistance Features
Despite its track-focused nature, the Taycan Turbo GT benefits from the core safety of the Taycan platform, which boasts a 5-star Euro NCAP rating. Porsche ensures essential driver aids like Lane Keep Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition are typically included. While a suite of advanced systems such as Adaptive Cruise Control and Night Vision Assist can often be optioned, the Turbo GT prioritises driver engagement. Therefore, some assistance features may be less intrusive, keeping you connected to the raw driving experience.
Warranty & Maintenance Coverage
In Europe, Porsche typically offers a 2-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty for the Taycan Turbo GT. The crucial high-voltage battery receives more extensive coverage: 8 years or 160,000 km, guaranteeing against excessive degradation (usually to 70% of its original capacity). Powertrain components fall under the main vehicle warranty. Servicing intervals for Porsche EVs are generally long, contributing to a positive ownership experience. Reliability is a strong suit for the Taycan, promising peace of mind alongside its electrifying performance.
