Overview
Making a bold entrance into the competitive compact electric SUV market, the 2025 VinFast VF 6 Eco is a stylish new contender from Vietnam. With chic exterior styling penned by the legendary Pininfarina studio, this crossover aims to attract buyers with its blend of design, technology, and expected value. The Eco trim serves as the accessible entry point to the range, focusing on efficiency and a strong set of standard features. While official European pricing has not yet been announced, the VF 6 is positioned to shake things up with an aggressive pricing strategy.
What's New for 2025?
As an all-new model making its debut, everything about the 2025 VF 6 is fresh out of the box. This vehicle represents VinFast's inaugural entry into the small electric crossover segment, bringing the brand's latest software and advanced driver-assistance systems to a wider audience. The VF 6 launches with a minimalist, tech-forward interior concept and a powertrain designed for practical daily use. For 2025, it establishes a new benchmark for the brand, showcasing its global ambitions and contemporary design language in a compact and city-friendly package.
Design & Exterior
Draped in a sleek body designed by Italian masters Pininfarina, the VF 6 Eco boasts a smooth, sophisticated look that stands out. Its most distinctive feature is the signature V-shaped LED light bar at the front, which gives it an unmistakable identity on the road. The overall proportions are neat and tidy for a modern SUV, measuring 4238 mm in length, 1820 mm in width, and 1594 mm in height. The Eco trim prioritizes efficiency with aerodynamically designed wheels, completing its clean and contemporary aesthetic that’s bound to turn heads.
Interior, Tech & Cargo
Inside, the VF 6 Eco offers a modern and minimalist cabin with seating for five. The dashboard is dominated by a large, landscape-oriented central touchscreen that controls nearly all vehicle functions, creating a clean, button-free environment. While material quality is solid for the segment, the focus is squarely on digital real estate. Cargo space is practical, offering a decent 350 litres in the boot, which expands to a generous 1275 litres when you fold the rear seats down. However, it's worth noting there's no front trunk, or 'frunk', for extra storage.
Performance & Driving Experience
The VF 6 Eco is geared for comfortable and efficient city driving rather than outright thrills. Its single front-mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor delivers a respectable 130 kW of power and 250 Nm of torque through a front-wheel-drive system. This setup gets the car from 0 to 100 km/h in a tidy 8.5 seconds, providing plenty of poke for daily commutes and motorway merging. The ride is tuned for comfort, soaking up bumps well, and drivers can choose between different levels of regenerative braking to help claw back some energy.
Range, Battery & Charging
Powering the VF 6 Eco is a 59.6 kWh usable battery pack, which provides a real-world range of approximately 339 kilometres, as calculated by Green Cars Compare. This translates to a solid efficiency of 5.69 km/kWh. For charging, it features a CCS Type 2 port. Hooked up to a home or public AC charger, the standard 11 kW on-board unit can replenish the battery in about 6 hours. When you need a quick top-up on the go, the VF 6 supports DC fast charging at a peak speed of 100 kW.
Safety & Driver-Assistance Features
While an official Euro NCAP safety rating is still pending for this new model, VinFast has equipped the VF 6 with a comprehensive suite of modern safety technologies. Expect a robust set of standard driver-assistance features even on this Eco trim, including essentials like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking. This digital co-pilot is designed to make driving easier and safer, showcasing VinFast's commitment to packing its vehicles with the latest active and passive safety kit right across the range.
Warranty & Maintenance Coverage
VinFast is making a statement with its warranty, offering incredible peace of mind for new owners. The VF 6 is expected to come with the brand's class-leading 10-year or 200,000-kilometre basic vehicle warranty. This impressive coverage extends to the high-voltage battery, which also includes a guarantee against significant degradation, ensuring its performance for years to come. This industry-leading warranty package is one of VinFast's biggest selling points, demonstrating strong confidence in the reliability and longevity of its vehicles and removing a major barrier for buyers considering a new brand.
