Overview
The Zeekr X is a premium compact electric SUV aiming to shake up the European market with its sharp design and tech-laden interior. This Long Range RWD version prioritises efficiency over the bonkers performance of its all-wheel-drive sibling. It's a stylish, high-quality alternative to established rivals, packing a seriously compelling feature set. With a starting price in Europe around €43,490, it offers a premium EV experience without the traditional German price tag. It's a seriously cool bit of kit that feels fresh and exciting in a crowded segment.
What's New for 2025?
As a relatively new arrival in Europe, the 2025 Zeekr X focuses on refinement rather than a major overhaul. The key updates are delivered through over-the-air (OTA) software updates, continuously improving the snappy infotainment system and enhancing the driver-assistance features for an even smoother experience. Zeekr is also actively expanding its service and charging network partnerships across the continent, making ownership more convenient. While major hardware changes aren't expected, look out for minor tweaks to option packages and colour palettes as the brand responds to European customer feedback.
Design & Exterior
The Zeekr X stands out with a bold, minimalist design that looks more like a concept car than a production SUV. It’s packed with high-end details like frameless doors, flush-fitting handles, and a distinctive lighting signature that gives it real presence on the road. This Long Range RWD trim shares the same futuristic look as the rest of the range. It’s a neatly proportioned SUV, measuring 4432 mm long, 1836 mm wide, and 1566 mm tall, making it perfectly sized for navigating tight European city streets and car parks.
Interior, Tech & Cargo
Step inside, and the cabin feels properly premium, featuring high-quality, sustainable materials and a clean, modern layout. The tech is dominated by a massive 14.6-inch central touchscreen that controls almost everything, complemented by a slim digital driver's display and a head-up display. For your luggage, you get a decent 362-litre boot, which expands to a very practical 1182 litres when you fold the rear seats down. As a neat bonus, there's also a handy 21-litre front trunk, or 'frunk', perfect for stashing charging cables.
Performance & Driving Experience
Don't let the 'Long Range' name fool you; this single-motor version is still properly quick. Its 200 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor serves up 343 Nm of instant torque to the rear wheels, launching the car from 0-100 km/h in a brisk 5.6 seconds. The rear-wheel-drive setup gives it an agile and engaging feel through the corners, offering a more balanced and fun driving experience than many front-driven rivals. The ride is well-judged, soaking up bumps comfortably, making it a fantastic all-rounder for both city driving and enjoyable B-road blasts.
Range, Battery & Charging
This RWD model is all about maximising your kilometres. It features a 65 kWh usable battery, which Green Cars Compare calculates will deliver a real-world range of around 379 km. It's impressively efficient, too, rated at 5.83 km/kWh. Charging is handled via a standard CCS Type 2 port. At home, the standard 11 kW AC charger is ideal for overnight top-ups, with a faster 22 kW charger available as an option. On the move, its 400V architecture can pull a maximum of 158 kW from a DC fast charger.
Safety & Driver-Assistance Features
Safety is clearly a top priority, as the Zeekr X has already earned a full five-star rating from Euro NCAP. It comes impressively kitted out with a comprehensive suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) as standard. This means you get features like adaptive cruise control with lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic emergency braking all included. You don't need to dive into the options list to get the latest safety tech, providing excellent peace of mind on every journey. It’s a very safe pair of hands.
Warranty & Maintenance Coverage
Zeekr offers a compelling warranty to build confidence. In Europe, buyers get a "5+5 year" plan, which includes a 5-year/100,000 km basic vehicle warranty. This can be extended for another 5 years if you stick to the official service schedule. The all-important high-voltage battery is covered for 8 years or 200,000 km, with a guarantee to retain at least 70% of its original capacity. This strong coverage demonstrates Zeekr's faith in its engineering and provides long-term reassurance for owners, a crucial factor when choosing a new brand.
