The 2024 Model X ultra red has a bluer shade than the older red. The ultra red is a three-stage color and potentially a four-stage color with a G-shade sealer underneath. There is no significant change in the body except for the hood panel, which is mostly structural. The front bumper cover is different; the older generation has chrome stripes down the side and ultrasonic sensors, while the new bumper has deleted those and has a larger space down by the shutter assembly. Tesla is moving to Tesla Vision, so self-driving is camera-driven, but radar is still included, though may not be fully utilized. The chrome trim delete presents black trim.There are many interior differences. The original Model X has similar steering column, steering wheel, gear selector, and windshield wiper combinations as in the Model S, and the switches in the door panel came from Mercedes. The original orientation screen and the screen on the updated Model X is different. A new screen and orientation are present in the updated vehicle, and the screen can be repositioned for the driver or passenger. There is no screen in the back of the older Model X; in the new version, there is a screen to control the seat and temperatures and access games. The newer steering column provides only the basic steering controls with no signal, wiper, or other controls present. There is a driver-facing camera for Full Self-Driving to monitor the driver. The door panels are slightly different. The seat structure remains but the materials are different. A common complaint is that the new vehicles have difficulty accessing the horn quickly.
