Video Summary

The Opel Vivaro-e's Electric Motor is sunk lower than a combustion engine in conventional models.

It features an electric motor with 100kW (136 HP) and 260 Nm torque, which is carried to the front wheels via an automatic transmission with one constant gear.

The technique is identical to that in Peugeot 208/2008, Opel Corsa, and Opel Mokka, or DS Models.

The key difference is the option for a larger 75 kWh battery in addition to the standard 50 kWh battery.

The 75 kWh capacity puts it on par with a small Tesla.

The battery is located under the floor.

Due to PSA's van design, the battery's placement allows for an even floor that reaches the rear axle.

The height is identical to standard versions.

Components for charging are centrally located, saving space and weight.

The techniques keep the center of gravity down, helping driving performance.

The vehicle’s design benefits from a steeply sloped windshield and streamlined body.

For professional drivers, standard headlights are halogen; LED daytime running lights are optional.

The interior offers a warm feeling.

It features simpler materials, designed for easy maintenance.

Heated seats are included for all three passengers in the front row, as well as the standard locking of the back of the vehicle for safety.

The battery is also easily fast-charged (100 kW is used for a good while) - about 30 minutes to charge the smaller battery from zero to 80%, with the larger battery taking 15 minutes longer.

It can also be charged more slowly via Wallbox.

With a smaller battery, it can travel as far as 230 km on battery power, and with a larger battery as far as 330 km.

With a standard 7.4 kW charger, it will last around 7 hours.

Independent rear suspension, big springs, and stabilizer bar all add to the vehicle's quality.

Changing the rear bearing may be challenging.

There’s an additional plate with the Toyota logo for the bottom part of the battery which may also aid in sturdiness.

It drives well, especially with an almost one-ton load.

A downside is the lack of a heat pump, so electric use does vary with the weather.

A highlight is the smooth, quiet ride.

For some drivers the cargo van offers a lot of potential.
