The Silverado EV has annoying and cool features alike. Cool elements include its front eTrunk with tie-down hooks, bag hooks, 120v power outlet, and cup holders. The tailgate has a power-down function. Plus there is a built in power down step, and spray in bed liner. Standard is a soft tonneau cover. The midgate can be opened in two separate sections. One section is a lay-down seat, then the rear window can be removed to create more cargo space. The truck bed area includes 120v 20-amp power plugs. The EV can run with the vehicle off, and can even be set up to power some items inside a home during a power outage.
The windshield a-pillars are thick and affect visibility and create unusual perspective when parking. Additionally, the mirror on the passenger door isn't convex, and offers an unnatural rear view with the vehicle's other mirrors. It uses artifical noise that permeates the cabin at lower speeds, until it gets annoying. It still accelerates nicely, even for it's heavy size.
All models come standard with a suite of active safety systems. Overall, the Silverado EV is a pretty cool vehicle, and good for being a local vehicle or camping truck, for shorter trips with less hauling and more charging options along the way.
