The 2024 Porsche Taycan offers a larger battery pack and improved electric motors. With a 97 kWh battery pack, the car has a theoretical range of 418 kilometers or 259 miles under today's conditions. The Taycan had exceptional charging speed at high state of charge. Coming to a charging station at 16% it immediately hit charging at 280-290 kW. This test was performed in early fall conditions, and with large 21” wheels and performance tires, the results are good, but not its best. Despite other cars considered, the Taycan remains the “best car ever” to drive. As one point of criticism, the car can be “noisy” on Norwegian roads. At 42% the car estimates it will charge at a peak speed of 180 kW, hitting speeds just under 300kW (181-187kW). With no preconditioning, 187 kW can be achieved from 42% upward.
