LOTUS EMEYA R 919HP // REVIEW on AUTOBAHN

Uploaded 11 months ago by AutoTopNL

Video Summary

The car is challenging the Tesla Model S Plaid, Lucid Air, Porsche Taycan Turbo and Turbo S, and the Audi RS E-tron GT. It’s bigger than most of those cars, closer to Panamera size.

The design is modern-day Lotus. It is an imposing car, 2 meters wide.

The solar yellow car has a carbon exterior pack, with carbon in the bumper and side splitter.

This model has upgrade 21-inch wheels, but 22-inch carbon fiber wheels are also available.

The brakes are Lotus carbon ceramic brakes, very large.

Air suspension comes standard. The R gets the dynamic handling package (active anti-roll bars and rear-wheel steering).

The side camera is optional. Do not buy them, since the car does not estimate distance properly on them, especially at high speed on the autobahn.

There is a small front trunk perfect for charging cables or a camera bag.

There is a carbon fiber diffuser and a spoiler.

There is active aero; a flap in the diffuser opens during driving.

Rear seat space is good for leg room, but not super comfy due to high floor. The floor is made from soft leather. Headroom in the back is decent for a sloping roof.

The interior is beautiful, better than BMW, Porsche, Mercedes, and Audi. There is a KEF sound system with an 800-watt 15-speaker system.

The 15-inch display is really good, and it responds well, but the system is confusing and all over the place. It needs work.

Drive modes are on the paddles, while different levels of traction control can be set. The ESC can be turned off.

Power delivery and rear wheel steering can make the car twitchy, but it’s amazing.

The 0-100 measurement should be 2.8 seconds. This car did it in 2.87.

It gets a range of 485 km (WLTP range), and a 350-kilowatt charging limitation. 10-80% charge takes 14 minutes.

This version of the car, as specced, is 200,000 euros.

The reviewer said that the version, Emeya R, is not really worth the premium because the Emeya S offers very similar specs at a lower price point.
