Video Summary

The Lotus Emeya is a four-door, all-electric hyper GT and Lotus’s second EV, after the Eletra SUV. The Lotus aims to go all electric by 2028.

It’s a large car, over 5.1 meters long and 2.1 meters wide.

It's larger than the Porsche Taycan, more similar in size to a Porsche Panamera.

Its form is dictated by the electric architecture that underpins it and a large 3-meter wheelbase.

It features quad LED strips and main headlights on aggressive bumpers, with vents in the bumper opening and closing for optimal airflow.

The car has air curtains that drop down.

20 to 22-inch rims give the Emeya a strong stance.

Gloss black and carbon fiber are used to cut visual bulk. The tail is a fastback, and hides a spoiler that opens in three stages.

The Emeya's interior, entirely shared with the Eletra, has an identity that is very likable.

The interior has a 15.1-inch touchscreen and physical toggles for the climate control. It’s considered too much packed in.

A strip-like display showing vital information and a head-up display are for the driver, with a small strip like display for the passenger.

The steering wheel feels nice and chunky, and has a regen paddle and drive mode paddle. Seats are geared for driver comfort, with massage, heating, and ventilation available.

Quality is a highlight; the car feels high-end. Alcantara is standard, and an all-vegan interior is an option.

The car will be priced slightly below the Eletra SUV, likely from Rs 2.4 to 2.8 crore ex-showroom in India.

The Emeya shares its powertrains with the Eletra SUV.

The R has a stronger rear motor, bringing the output to 905 horsepower, which pairs to a two-speed gearbox. The battery pack is 102 kWh.

The R has a WTLP range of 435 km. Charging to 80% in 18 minutes. A frunk offers 31 liters of space.

The car has a push back on your seat under hard acceleration. The tested car achieved 160 km per hour quite fast. Noise insulation is excellent. It’s easy to get comfortable driving, even hands-off. There’s exceptional ride comfort, as it drives flat and doesn’t move around as much as expected. It’s grippy with good body control. There's Level 4 ADAS. The brake torque vectoring and rear-wheel steering make it feel like a smaller car than it is. The suspension read the road conditions a thousand times per second, contributing to the excellent handling.
