Video Summary

The fourth generation Mini Cooper, previously named Hatch, is now called just Cooper. The letter C indicates the basic version and S the enhanced one. John Cooper Works is at the top. By 2030, Mini will offer only electric models.  The electric version is designated J01, and it has been created in cooperation with Great Wall Motor.
Compared to the F56, the F65 (petrol version) has a new front and rear, the electric J01 lost the black wheel arch cladding, and gained flush door handles from BMW.
The tested model is a Cooper SE with JCW styling and an M-package for BMW. The exterior dimensions are practically unchanged from the previous generation.
The electric version is 3cm longer between the wheels and about 1cm higher. Test car model is the Cooper SE with a styling package JCW, comparable with M-package from BMW.
The electric Cooper has better weight distribution, due to low-lying batteries.
Boot space has 210 liters. In the petrol version, one could lower the floor, which isn't possible in the electric version. Both have Harmon Kardon sound systems. It has a four-person rating.
Inside, a translucent display is placed ahead of the driver, with other information on the 24-cm round display. The infotainment system is intuitive but has some drawbacks. A special air vent is featured in the front, targeting the back seats.
The petrol-powered engine lineup is 156 hp 1.5 and 204 hp 2.0. Electric versions are 184 hp, and have a traction battery of 36.6 kWh. The electrified car has a limited top speed of 170km/h.
The tested model used about 15 kWh/100 km in the city, above 20 kWh on the highway, offering 400 km range in suburban use, and less than 300 km in the city. Charging it with 11kw AC takes 5 hours, and DC takes it to 80% in around 30 minutes.
The price of Cooper C starts at $27,000 while the Cooper E goes for $36,000.  The tester had a price of $50,000.
The quality of finish isn't at par compared to cars from Oxford, UK. Its handling through corners is noteworthy.
