NEW Citroen E-C4 Review: RIDICULOUS Comfort | 4K

Uploaded 4 years ago by AutoTrader

Video Summary

- It is about the size of a Ford Focus.
- The C4 has a 217-mile range.
- There is enough space for a family.
- The electric motor makes 135 horsepower.
- Excitement is not really what the car is about.
- The previous generation of C4 was forgettable, this generation is much more memorable.
- Its styling is pretty wild, especially at the front, with tiny LEDs up top and huge main beams that resemble those you find on a Porsche.
- It has some complex surfacing textures and shapes, with the busiest alloys you'll ever find, 18s in this case, and a roofline that slopes down quite unexpectedly, like a coupé.
- Overall, it is an eccentric, wacky, very French style.
- This car is all about the comfort.
- The car is super quiet.
- The seats are super comfortable with 15 mm of padding and are called advanced comfort seats.
- Steering is super light, like that of a Rolls Royce.
- A three-point turn can be done with only one finger.
- The gear selector switch is a little temperamental.
- The suspension uses progressive hydraulic cushions.
- It's like having a cushion on top of a cushion.
- It feels like the steering system you get in a Rolls Royce.
- The car is available as a petrol, a diesel or an electric.
- all models are geared towards the same thing: being comfortable and easy to live with.
- There is a fair amount of body roll.
- Its got 135 horsepower, 250 newton meters of torque
- Zero to 62 in 9.7 seconds.
- The EC4 has a 50-kilowatt hour battery pack and in the brochure they tell you that it's good for a range of 217 miles, but the reality is always a bit different.
- The presenter has been living with the car for a week now, and never achieved 217 miles. During normal driving I average around three miles per kilowatt hour three times 50 equals 150, which is typically what you're going to expect from this car. If I can, if I drive a bit like a nun, stretch that out to 3.8 miles per kilowatt hour.
- 3.8 - 50 works out to be around 190. So somewhere between 150 and just under 200 miles if you try really hard.
- Important is that the EC4 is compatible with 100 kilowatt rapid charging, which means you can go from zero to 80 percent battery power in 30 minutes from 100 kilowatt charger.
- When you're charging at home from a 7 kilowatt wall box, it'll take around 7 1/2 hours to charge overnight.
- Pros:
- Wireless charging map with indicator
- USB type A and USB type C in plain sight
- Storage area
- Hidden compartment
- Storage tray for an iPad
- Dedicated mount to position an iPad for the passenger to view
- Cons
- That screen is a little too small for the presenter's liking and a little bit too high resolution, that a lot of the text is a little bit too tiny to see
- Ten thousand pound premium over cheapest manual petrol c4.
- It is a really good family car.
- It is also a compact electric family car. The presenter says you could do a hell of a lot worse than pick up an EC4.
