The ES90 is Volvo's new saloon and it is not an SUV. It is the second car to use the super set tech stack. It will start at £70,000 in the UK and targets the Chinese market, spearheading the company’s next wave of EVs. It is considered the best-looking of its class, contrasting with a BMW i5, a Mercedes EQE saloon, and an Audi A6 e-tron. The ES90 debuts a dual Nvidia Drive AGX computer, 40 times more powerful than an Xbox Series X for more efficient and quicker over-the-air updates, and connectivity and safety feature improvements. It is based on the SPA2 platform that underpins the EX90 and Polestar 3. The front end is dominated by Thor’s Hammer DRLs, contrasted against paintwork because of a lack of a radiator grille.The interior is minimalist but super luxurious, featuring sustainable materials, a head-up display, a 9-inch digital dashboard, a 14.5-inch central touch screen, wireless CarPlay, 5G, and integrated Google services. The car also has a Bowers & Wilkins 25-speaker sound system delivering 1610W, and a special Abbey Road Studios mode. The electrochromic roof allows for adjustable light and shade with the touch of a button. The range of battery sizes come with a single motor rear wheel drive layout that is 88 kWh that delivers 328 brake horsepower with a 404-mile range, and a 102 kWh battery variant exclusively available with twin motors with all-wheel drive. The latter gets 671-brake horsepower and can go from 0 to 62 mph in just 4 seconds. The charging time is rated at 20 minutes for a 10 to 80% refill at a 350kW charging station. The cars will land in the UK in the first quarter of 2026.
