Video Summary

The BYD Seal Lion 7 and the Xpeng G6 are comparable in specs but have slightly lower prices than the Tesla Model Y, and the features don't feel skimped on either. They both come with large multimedia screens and driver displays, heated and vented front seats, heated rear seats, large panoramic sunroofs, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and surround view cameras. Both have apps that can do remote unlocking and locking, vehicle finding, status checking, and other functions.

The Seal Lion 7 is equipped with a head-up display, a rotating 15.6-inch multimedia display, genuine leather seats, and a leather steering wheel.  It has a $54,990 price tag.

The Xpeng G6 is priced at $54,800.  It has a 14.96-inch screen and a heated leather steering wheel, and synthetic leather seats.

The designs of the car are thought to be wind tunnel influenced. While the front of the vehicles are similar, there are differences in silhouette and design. The G6 has a smoother design. There is not a lot in terms of buttons or anything like that to break up the minimalistic design, but that can be a downside when you are actually in the car. There is a light bar in the back as well.

The BYD C Lion 7 has more features on the interior and exterior. It also has better storage with 500 liters of space and has an electric and automatic boot. This electric car has some creases that sort of take the lines down the back of the car and also across the top of the bonnet.

The Seal Lion 7 is 4.8 meters long and the leg room in the back has plenty of space, but in terms of feel during the drive, there are some issues.

The Seal Lion 7 has that little extra weight of 200 kilograms and because of that big bumps in the road don't quite settle smoothly.  There are some adjustments, though, on the suspension that allow the user to customize their weight.

Both cars have a five-star ANCAP rating, but BYD features nine airbags over the Xpeng seven.

The BYD boasts an impressive 482 km range. However, while it has a bigger battery the Xpeng takes 20 minutes to charge to 80% and the rate is slower. Both the BYD and Xpeng have similar drivetrain setups. Because the figures are similar in drive and day-to-day livability, the way the cars look and drive range favors the BYD.
