Video Summary

The Volvo EC40 has headline range figures: the standard one, 260 miles of range up to the twin motor, 338 miles of range. Has 300kW charge speed, 0-60 in 4.6 seconds. There’s an 8% increase in sales when others are not doing well.

The car has the usual standard features, indicators, vents and a stick control for the mirrors, so it's cozy in here. The seats are amazing and designed by orthopedic surgeons, allowing for long journeys without fatigue.

However, that’s not where you put the emphasis, there is the 30% reduction in charging time achieved through partnering with Breathe.

Range at 72% is 180 miles, it's thought to go to 400 miles in the city. You can charge it at the charging station at 350 kW but it delivers less at 28 kW. The pilot assist is a great addition.

The trunk has 452 liters of space. A small suitcase or a handbag will fit. It's dry under the hood, bit of carpet, a nice place for your cables. It's also quiet in the cabin, so they've made an incredible effort with this.

One quirky thing is roofs reflecting lights at night; if you drive under a motorway bridge and see a flash. For the rearview image, should the full top-down image not be the default setting? Spotify integration is a bonus that is shared only with BMW.

This EC40 has smart tech that allows for smarter commutes. It's expensive at £52,887, but very good. If you are on a budget you could go for the EX30 instead. It appears that the consumer is tired of being told what and when to drive; just make it like a car.
