Video Summary

The reviewer thinks that used Porsche Taycans are a terrific value. Looking for just the right car took four months. The pickup from the Porsche dealership was the premium experience that one expects. He plans to drive 1200 miles from Ontario to Seattle. Tesla’s supercharger network isn't open to Porsche; he will use Electrify America and Tesla Level 2 destination chargers (using an adapter). It isn't the nightmare that people make it out to be. It has a fast charging speed. A premium audio system is available for $6000. This is his first time behind the wheel of this model. He forgot to insure it and had to do so on the way. He tests the innodrive and traffic jam assist. It is not as comprehensive as Super Cruise or Full Self Driving but it makes the road easier. The car is easy to drive.

The car is rated at 230 miles of range. It has 180 miles of range left at the start of his trip. He reaches the first charging station at about 40% charge, well preconditioned for faster charging. Charging at commercial stations is fast, but it's expensive (64 cents per kWH). That is 5 times what it costs at home. The Porsche gets access to the Tesla supercharging system soon. It reached about 80% after getting that initial charge at the public charging station. With more of a drained pack, the charge speed gets faster, topping out at 190 kW.

Averaged $35 for about 99.3 kWh of power added, resulting in almost $86.00 spent. At a hotel in Woodland, CA at 1:14 in the morning he gets a room for $150 plus free breakfast. He snags some food for later on. He's hoping for malted waffles but only finds pancakes. The route planner takes me to the next charge station without fail. Now to see what part 2 will entail with all of his new found knowledge!
