There were significant shortcomings on this electric car, particularly with range, efficiency, and charging performance. The charging peak of 100 kW is considered very low. 24.0 kWh of energy delivered during the test is worse than a Tesla Model Y 4680. The observed efficiency of 2.4 miles/kWh is worse than many other EV models of similar size. After a gentle acceleration and the cruise set to 80mph, the state of charge reached 10% after 58 miles.
The reviewer does not love the Toyota BZ4X. The vehicle has solid interior features, infotainment, heated seats and steering wheel, good materials. Incentives are currently available, making this vehicle affordable. Given the car's issues, the Toyota is recommended only as a secondary vehicle for a good price.
