Video Summary

The car has a swoopy tailgate and spoiler which spoils the view out the back a little.

The roofline looks better than the ID.4; it is less blobby. The contrasting roof bar makes it look like a convertible. Alloy wheels start at 19 inches and rise to 20 inches. The front looks very similar to the ID.4; there are no significant changes.

It starts at just under £50,000. This one, with equipment, is nearly £60,000, but savings can be made.

The ID.5 comes with sporty seats as standard; they are comfortable, and there is plenty of adjustment.

The interior is the same as the ID.4. The interior quality is OK but has some scratchy plastics lower down. The interior of a Kia EV6 feels more expensive.

The infotainment system has a big screen; use a slider for the volume. Buttons are not back lit. Touch-sensitive buttons on the steering wheel are annoying.

The digital driver's display is small.

The driving select buttons are easy to reach.

For practicality, it has two cup holders, a storage area, two USB ports, and configurable cup holder bits. It has seat armrests.

The rear has less headroom because of the sloping roofline.

There is plenty of knee room; a flat floor allows fitting three adults at once.

The Isofix points are covered. The rear windows go all the way down.

The ID.5’s boot has a capacity of 549 L, which is 6 L more than the ID.4.

The boot is a nice square shape, and you can lean forward to fold the seats down. There are no release handles in the back. No completely flat floor, but it’s smooth enough to slide things through.

The ID light is an LED strip, and gives charging information and signals when you need to leave at a certain junction when using satellite navigation.

This car has a good keyless entry and go system.

The ID.5 has a 77 kWh battery pack and a claimed range of 360 miles. It can charge on DC at 135 kW or AC at 11 kW.

Two motor choices. Rear-wheel drive cars have either 174 horsepower or 204 horsepower. A dual motor GTX model has an extra motor and 299 horsepower.

The average range of 3.5 miles per kilowatt hour equals 288 miles of real world range. A Tesla Model Y has a better range.

It took 8.84 seconds to go from 0-60 mph.

Stop from 60 took 34 meters, which is pretty good.

There's a little bit of wind noise from around the door mirrors. It is quiet and comfortable.

Steering and handling is pretty good.

Rear visibility is not that great.

Front passenger and driver seats have arm rests.

A lot of manufacturers are fitting flush door handles because they look better. This is not the case in the ID.5. There is a recessed normal looking handle. It's easy.

Because it is an electric car that is built from the ground up, there is no cable storage under the bonnet.

It should be considered. It’s a nice enough car, but is a little expensive for what it is.
