Video Summary

The ID.Buzz is a modern, electric iteration of the Volkswagen bus. It has been created, in the history of Volkswagen, to be the second electrical commercial vehicle in their production. The electric vehicle comes in two lengths, standard and extended with standard being 4.71 meters and extended at 4.96 meters. A prior electric model transporter only had 24 horsepower and an 80 kilometer range, a battery weighing 850 kg, and a transport capacity of 800 kg.

The ID.Buzz is built to meet customer expectations. A standard chassis is measured at 2.9 meters wide and 4.7 meters in length. The long chassis adds another 250mm to the width and another 250mm to the length.

It has a seating capacity of four plus one for its short version, 5 plus one for long and 6 plus 1 (7 total). A color palette for the vehicle includes sugar white, lemon yellow, energy orange, navy, green, gray, dark black, red and blue. Kayar sliding doors will also be standard. The ID.Buzz has a cargo volume of 3.9 meters cubed. The cargo van version has the option to be ordered with 1 or two seats upfront.

For a commercial ID.Buzz cargo van, the curb weight is 2.4 tons. Total weight is 3.15 tons and the cargo transport weight is 745 kgs with a 490 kg battery.

Standard features include easy access electric doors. Another standard feature is an ID Light which is composed of 50 LEDs on fiber optics. It will signal to drivers, navigate and more.

With electromatic, panoramic smart glass it will allow or not allow light based on driver controls and can change color according to the vehicle’s 30 color options.

The battery has an 8 year or 160,000 km warranty.

It has a rear wheel drive system.

It’s rear wheel drive system also contains the 3 phase electric motor. An inner combustion engine requires nearly 6 litres of gas per 100 kilometers which is about 252 Turkish Lira. However, with electric vehicle power, this requires only 19 kWh or 75 Turkish Lira when charging from home. It is 132 Turkish Lira using A/C and 170 Lira using D/C.

The Cargo model release date is October 2024 with a price of 3,950,000 Turkish Lira. The ID.Buzz PRO release is also October 2024. The ID.Buzz Pure release will be around December 2024/January 2025, at 3,600,000 Turkish Lira. The ID.Buzz GTX version will also release between December 2024 and January 2025.

The motor has a 210 kW or 286 PS motor with a torque of 560 Nm. It contains a roughly 84 kWh or 79 kWh battery that is AC/DC chargeable up to 185 kW.

For city driving, which calls for 11 kWh of electric charge, there’s a 60,000km cycle. With long distance drives charging frequently and 58kW capacity, there’s a 150,000 km cycle. For long distances it would reach around 180,000 km.

7 airbags, driving assist, adaptive cruise control are also standard. There are reports of the sound isolation being good. 50km/hr is rated safe.
